About Midwest Upland Gundog Series™
The Midwest Upland Gun Dog Series of Minnesota™ provides a competitive format for bird dog owners, trainers, breeders and handlers that most accurately depicts upland hunting and best represents the most desired attributes of a sound gun dog.
Different approach
Although other organizations afford similar opportunities for the upland hunter based on the outpouring of requests by local competitors, we determined that a new, refreshing alternative was needed. Our goal is to enhance the overall experience of the competitive upland hunter by offering local, affordable and enjoyable events.
- Something for everyone - It is our intent to appeal to all upland enthusiasts, by providing formats that are suitable for a variety of competitors so that members can compete with their peers. Throughout our Series and during our competitions, we commit to providing each competitor an equal opportunity to succeed.
- Commitment to safety – We are dedicated to using all of our resources to ensure the overall enjoyment and safety of attendees at our competitions – before, during and after each event. For this reason, our human competitors are required to walk at a safe, controlled pace.
- Positive atmosphere – Our competitions are designed to provide a format for upland bird hunting enthusiasts and their dogs to demonstrate and evaluate their talent in an atmosphere that encourages camaraderie, shared passion and the thrill of the sport.
Inaugural season
We are excited to announce that our inaugural season includes six sanctioned events highlighted by the First Annual Series Championship
Each of our competitions is held in Minnesota and we are proud and fortunate to be collaborating with host clubs that share and are committed to our core beliefs.
Competition at all levels
Our competitions feature two divisions - Pointers and Flushers, determined by the breed of the dog and five events within each division:
- Top Gun
- Doubles
- Amateur
- Masters
- Puppy
